what is wrong -

Historical /Cultural vandalism - destroying the irreplaceable -Tara is not just the Hill of Tara but the zone inside the ring of forts - various things found have proved this - It is an area uniquely rich in both legend and archaeology - may yet give an understanding of how they relate - Ireland's Rosetta Stone ... should be kept intact for future generationsto learn from and enjoy
Spiritual - The heart Chakra - the traditionl seat of Sovereignity in Ireland should not go to tarmac - carphone warehouse -spaghetti junction - the rush and fumes of traffic and people hurrying to be somewhere else - it is not Modern and it is not dignified - it does not encourage international respect or self-respect - it is just crap . Ireland should have something better at Tara .
Ecological - increasing traffic into Dublin - sabotaging development of the railway railway - deliberately increasing car dependency when we should be trying to do the opposite

by means of -

Peaceful Activism - slowing the work down as much as possible

Political - lobbying - opinion - media -  letters to papers etc

Legal - especially to the Constitution
```

what we hope for -

Respect for Ancestors , History and the Land - a sense of the Past
 and of the Future - where we come from and where we are going and 
of Peace in the centre

Better quality of life - not stuck in traffic at all - a rail network
 - a public trasport system - more safety -
 more use of modern technology to make commuting less needed -

Less damage to the planet - change course - cut carbon emissions
 and look to the future when the oil runs out  - reverse a bad decision 
- it will cost money and be embarrasing in the short term -
 in the longer term it will be seen as inspirational and farsighted
 -  Ireland taking the lead against Climate Change -
even if it has to be named the Bertie Ahern Memorial Heritage Park -
 it would be worth it

~ maybe especially the last bit could do with some revision .......

Rath Lugh and M3 debacle

Prof. Heaney added: "I suppose Tara means something equivalent to me to what Delphi means to the Greeks or maybe Stonehenge to an English person or Nara in Japan . . .It conjures up what they call in Irish dúchas, a sense of belonging a sense of patrimony, a sense of an ideal.

"The traces on Tara are in the grass, in the earth. They aren't spectacular like temple ruins in Greece but they are about origin, they're about beginning, they're about the mythological, spiritual source - something that gives the country its distinctive spirit".

SF stance praised

MY heartfelt thanks for the public support of Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams for the Save Tara campaign
at his party’s recent árd fheis.

The position of Sinn Féin in respect of Ireland’s sacred heritage at Tara has always been admirably clear,
positive and consistent (unlike, sad to say, that of most other political parties in the South).

This is a most inspiring and democratic expression of nationalism, that is, a true love of one’s native land
irrespective of financial vested interests. Let us hope Sinn Féin continues to speak out boldly on this important
public issue.
